Do you have Halloween plans?
Halloween is coming up fast!! Heidi Klum’s party has become a new tradition in Hollywood. The top model has dressed up as a gothic, Betty Boop, the Amazon Godiva (with horse and everything), a sexy pirate, a sexy vampire, a sexy cat, a Hindu goddess, and a raven.
Last year she wore a robotic suit devised by Martín Izquierdo (known for his famous wings in the Victoria’s Secret fashion shows), which left us with our jaw dropping. She got up on red plastic stilts (which lifted her up 2 meters). She wore a red and purple metal armor clad with circles over her chest, painted her entire face purpurin purple and wore a red carded wig. She looked like a mix between a Power Ranger and Lady Gaga!!!
I leave you some pics of her costumes… what surprise will we have this year?
It’s the time of the biopics! Every Hollywood actor or actress wishes to be involved in this type of project. In 2012 we find various biopics dedicated to the tempting blonde: Marilyn Monroe, due to the 50th anniversary of her death, which occurred October 5th. The two most highlighted films are those staring Naomi Watts and Michelle Williams. We are going to discuss the portrayal of Marilyn Monroe by Michelle Williams, in the film titled My week with Marilyn, which is receiving the a lot of attention these days.
My week with Marilyn is not your typical biographical film that goes through the life of a person. Completely based on true facts, during a week when Marilyn Monroe traveled to London in 1956 for the filming of “The Prince and the Showgirl” (while at the same time she was in England enjoying her honeymoon with playwright Arthur Miller). Colin Clark, the assistant director to Lawrence Olivier during the filming, was at the service of the actress during that week. Clark retired from the cinematography industry in 1987 and dedicated himself to writing his memoir until 2002, the year he died. My week with Marilyn is the story of those 7 days, narrated by Clark.
The movie was shown at the New York Film Festival, at the Big Apple, until October 30th. The world premier will be next November 4th. By what we can see from the trailer, the movie looks promising, and equally promising is the acting by Michelle Williams, who is rumored to have a possible Oscar nomination.
We strongly believe that the 50s style will return this year: skirts and dresses widen , from evasive-cut to ruffles to give volume. Cigarette pants, capris and crops pants always remind us of the splendor of the American culture. We will see sporty shorts, tight twin-sets of fine point. The pencil skirt will continue to be seen. Accessories, like jewelry, scarves, wide belts and even gloves will cover an important role in giving a definitive look. For cocktail wear you will see bra top dresses and flowy skirts, like those of Ani Lee.
Simon Curtis directs the film that stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe, Kenneth Branagh as Lawrence Olivier, Dougray Scott as the father of Arthur Miller, Emma Watson who gives life to a wardrobe assistant and Eddie Redmayne as the one and only Colin Clark. The rights of the two novels written by Clark, My week with Marilyn and ‘The prince, the showgirl and I’ were received with this condition by the author: the books were not to be taken to the big screen until everyone portrayed in the film were no longer living. The film premiers in theaters November 4th.
